National Youth Leadership Training

June and July 2021

NYLT is held at Tahose High Adventure Base near Ward, CO. This program is designed to provide Scouts with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home units and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. Denver Area Council is offering this program in June ( all four weeks) and one week in July. The cost for the one week program is $349.

NYLT is filling up fast, get med forms done. Sign up as quickly as possible.

People first class or higher plan an activity for new scouts for the cheery creek campout.

 Meet Friday 19th at 5:30 PM at the PEPC parking lot. We will be at Cheery Creek State park at the Arapahoe group site. There will be no dinner on Friday. We will set up in the dark and make sure to have your headlamp or flashlight on hand. We still need to wear masks if we can not social distancing. The cost per person is $40 for the campsite. Make sure to pack your gear in a bag so it won't get wet. Make sure to only tent with family. Bringing a chair is recommended. The weather will have a high of 40 degrees and a low of 20 degrees, if you don't have a low-temperature bag it is recommended you bring a second sleeping bag to put inside your sleeping bag. Make sure to bring snacks and drinks like Gatorade if you want. Food will be provided. Make sure to bring at least one Nalgene but two is recommended.  Hike Saturday morning. Merit badges are in the afternoon. Shane knight will lead a mountain bike excursion. An orienteering course for the new scouts and the troop guides will plan another activity for the new scouts. If you have ideas talk to Shane Allen. We will get back mid-morning on sunday. If you want to go mountain biking bring your own bike. If you are writing a check make it out to troop 88.
